.DISCUSSION...Cooler weather returns this weekend as high pressure is
replaced by a weak system crossing the region tonight. This will usher
in onshore flow for Saturday and drop temperatures back to around 60
degrees, with minimum RH values improving to around 40 percent. Gusty
northwest winds will develop in the wake of the system and persist through
the weekend. Peak gusts are expected roughly 1100-2000 both Saturday and
Sunday, gusting as high as 25-30 mph on exposed ridges. Cooling trend
continues on Sunday as another system brings a slight chance of rain. Do
not expect any meaningful rainfall, but minimum RH values will continue
to increase into the 50s. Expect a gradual warming trend through much of
next week as high pressure returns, bringing daytime highs in the 60s and
minimum humidity values closer to 30 percent each day. Precipitation chances
then look to increase again towards next Friday.
