DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Podul
was located near Latitude 21.1 degrees North and Longitude
130.2 degrees East. Podul is moving west-northwest at 15 mph. It
is expected to maintain this general course and speed through
Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 65 mph. Podul is forecast to
intensify through Wednesday, possibly becoming a typhoon.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
80 miles to the northeast and up to 45 miles elsewhere.
