PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Thunderstorms east and south of Jebi continue to pose a risk for lightning, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall today. The potential for lightning strikes and gusty winds blowing loose objects can make being outside hazardous at times, and heavy rain can make travel difficult. Continue to monitor local conditions and the sky before traveling away from shelter. When thunder roars, get indoors, And when you see a flash, dash inside. && ...Winds... South to southeast winds of 20 to 30 mph this morning should decrease to 15 to 20 mph later this afternoon or tonight, with winds becoming more southeast as Jebi continues to move away. Gusts up to 40 mph are still possible, especially if a thunderstorm moves over an island. By Monday, a more typical trade-wind flow will extend across all of the Marianas. ...Coastal inundation and surf information... With winds decreasing surf will also to start to decrease below 9 feet later today or tonight. ...Inland Flooding... At 4AM this morning, satellite derived Ensemble Tropical Rainfall Potential (eTRaP) showed the potential for 1 to 3 inches of additional rain within the heavy showers and thunderstorms of Jebi, with locally higher amounts possible. This however does not account for any development of additional showers or thunderstorms east or south of Jebi. Exact amounts will vary depending how quickly showers and thunderstorms pass over the islands, and how may rounds of showers and thunderstorms each island experiences. Rainfall amounts may be lower or higher than the potentials estimated by eTRaP, however, high rain rates over a short period of time will lead to flooding in low-lying areas and make travel difficult if not dangerous, especially in areas with poor road or foot path access or maintenance. $$ Schank
