National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
230 PM SST Wed Nov 6 2024

.Short term...
TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT...The trough will remain near the
islands through Friday night. An upper-level jet stream to the
south will continue to limit convection and showers tonight. As
the jet stream shifts farther east, it will boost showers and
thunderstorms activity across the islands from Thursday night
through Friday night. Breezy tradewinds will continue through
Thursday night, then shift to a lighter east flow on Friday.

.Long term...
SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...The remnants of the trough will
linger near the islands through Saturday, with showers shifting
north before returning on Sunday night. The trough is expected to
dissipate by Monday, but scattered showers will persist through
Wednesday, fueled by tradewind moisture.

&&

.Marine...
Rough seas will continue tonight through Thursday. As north swells
fade and winds begin to calm, wave heights will decrease to 5 to 7
feet by Friday. Breezy tradewinds are expected to return on
Tuesday, increasing seas to 7 to 9 feet.
