National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
217 PM SST Thu Feb 27 2025

.Short term...
TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...The ridge axis will maintain
light winds and stable weather conditions across the islands
through Saturday night. As the easterly flow shifts north,
numerous showers will remain far to the north of the islands,
leaving the territory mainly dry. High temperatures will remain
warn and steady across the islands throughout the weekend. While
there will be no signficant rainfall, isolated showers may occur
in some areas, but they will be limited and brief at times.
Overall, expect calm weather, with stable conditions prevailing
through the weekend.

.Long term...
SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...The ridge will shift northeast, causing
winds to transition to a gentle northwest flow across the islands.
As a result, the trough to the southwest will move closer to the
islands and settle near or over the territory on Sunday. Showers
are expected to increase in coverage, becoming numerous on Sunday
night and continuing through the remainder of the new week. The
stationary trough will persist, maintaining gentle northwest winds
and numerous showers across the region through Thursday. These
conditions are likely to bring a sustained period of unsettled
weather, with showers lingering throughout the week.

.Marine...
Seas have subsided 5 to 7 feet since this morning. With light
winds across coastal waters, seas are expected to continue
subsiding, reaching 4 to 6 feet by Friday and remaining at calm
levels through Saturday night. From Sunday through Tuesday night,
gentle northwest winds will cause seas to gradually build back up
5 to 7 feet, with these conditions persisting through Tuesday
night. On Wednesday, north swells are forecast to move through the
region, slightly increasing seas 7 to 9 feet, with these
conditions lasting through Wednesday night.
