...DRY THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED TODAY AND WEDNESDAY OVER CENTRAL
AND EASTERN OREGON, WITH DRY AND WINDY CONDITIONS ACROSS THE
COLUMBIA BASIN WEDNESDAY...

.The ridge of high pressure currently in place over the Pacific
Northwest will break down tonight through Wednesday as a pair of
upper-level low-pressure systems pass over the region. This will
lead to thunderstorm development across central and eastern Oregon
Tuesday afternoon and evening, and across eastern Oregon Wednesday
afternoon and evening. Widespread breezy to windy conditions will
persist this evening through Wednesday, strongest through the
Cascade gaps and Columbia Basin on Wednesday with a frontal
passage.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag
Warning for abundant lightning, which is in effect from 11 AM to
10 PM PDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in
effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 691 Lower Columbia Basin of
  Oregon and 691 Lower Columbia Basin of Washington.

* TIMING...From 11 AM to 10 PM PDT Wednesday.

* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low 18 to 23 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag
Warning for abundant lightning, which is in effect from 2 PM to
11 PM PDT Wednesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 698 Southern Blue Mountains.

* TIMING...From 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
  quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Storms are mostly expected to be dry with
  rainfall amounts less than a tenth of an inch, though a few
  storms could produce rainfall amounts in excess of a tenth of
  an inch.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...As high as 55 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
