Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
204 PM PDT Sun Aug 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...Isolated thunderstorms (10-20% chance) will develop
this afternoon across the eastern mountains. A slight chance
(15-20%) of showers will develop overnight for the Columbia Basin
and portions of the eastern mountains. A drying and warming trend
will develop Monday through the week as high pressure builds over
the region, with a return to widespread low relative humidities by
Thursday. A low (10-15%) chance of an isolated thunderstorm or
two will develop Monday afternoon over Wallowa county.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
***Ventilation Index is derived from the
transport wind multiplied by the mixing
height in 100`s of feet. Index categories
are a generalized indicator and users are
encourage to develop criteria that are
   suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.***
Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height.
