Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington
National Weather Service Pendleton OR
554 AM PDT Sat Jul 20 2024

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM
PDT SUNDAY FOR HOT, DRY, AND UNSTABLE CONDITIONS FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONES OR642 AND OR644...

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will amplify over the region today and
Sunday for continued very hot, dry and unstable conditions before
beginning to breakdown late Sunday and Monday. This will bring a
slight chance of thunderstorms Sunday over central Oregon with
some moving north along the east slopes of the Cascades into
Washington. Thunderstorm threat shifts to the eastern mountains on
Monday. The ridge breakdown will lead to some increased breezy westerly
winds Sunday afternoon along the east slopes of the Cascades. An
upper level trough will bring cooler conditions with near normal
temperatures next week but with some continued locally breezy
conditions.

***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages***
***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater***
