...The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in West Virginia...

  Cheat River At Rowlesburg affecting Preston County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Cheat River at Rowlesburg.

* WHEN...From this evening to Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Flooding begins in the Rowlesburg town
  park.
  At 16.0 feet, Flooding reaches pavilions in Rowlesburg town park.
  At 18.0 feet, State route 72 is closed at the north end of
  Rowlesburg, and water surrounds houses near Rowlesburg town park.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:40 PM EST Thursday the stage was 16.0 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 0.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:40 PM EST Thursday was 16.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 16.2 feet just after
    midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage just
    after midnight tonight to 5.7 feet early Sunday morning. It
    will rise to 7.6 feet early Monday morning. It will then fall
    again and remain below flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    16.1 feet on 03/01/2021.
