At 730 AM EDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Fairmont, Pleasant Valley, Winfield, Barrackville, Monongah, Brookhaven, Rivesville, Grant Town, Reedsville, Masontown, Farmington, Worthington, Everettville, Colfax, Baxter, Valley Falls, Browns Chapel, Bentons Ferry, Gladesville and White Hall. Public reported roads flooded and cars stranded near the Fairmont area in Marion County. Floodwaters will take time to recede even after heavy rain ends. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
