...Severe Weather Preparedness Campaigns and Tornado Drills...

It is that time of year again when preparation for the upcoming spring
severe weather season moves into full swing. The purpose of these
severe weather preparedness campaigns is to educate and to
prepare for the dangers of thunderstorms, including tornadoes,
large hail, damaging winds, flash floods, and lightning. The goal
of each campaign is to turn this education into action. Tornado
drills will be conducted for each state served by the National
Weather Service in Paducah. These drills will provide a time to
practice your tornado safety plans.

The severe weather preparedness campaigns and tornado drills for the
four states served by the National Weather Service in Paducah are as
follows:

ILLINOIS:
CAMPAIGN: March 3rd to March 7th, 2025.
TORNADO DRILL: March 4th at 10:00 AM CST (NO EAS CODE - RWT code only).

KENTUCKY:
CAMPAIGN: March 1st to March 7th, 2025.
TORNADO DRILL: March 5th at 9:07 AM CST (TOR EAS CODE).

MISSOURI:
CAMPAIGN: March 3rd to March 7th, 2025.
TORNADO DRILL: March 5th at 11:00 AM CST (NO EAS CODE - RWT code only).

INDIANA:
CAMPAIGN: March 9th to March 15th, 2025.
TORNADO DRILL: March 11th at 9:15 AM CDT (TOR EAS CODE).

Severe weather preparedness and safety tips will be available online at

A press conference will be streamed live on the NWS Paducah Facebook page to
kick off these severe weather preparedness campaigns on Monday, March 3rd,
2025, at 10:30 AM CST.

A Facebook Live event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, at 7:00 PM CST
to discuss severe weather safety and preparedness and to answer questions from
the public.
