...NWS Damage Survey for 11/3/24 Tornado Event - Update # 1...

.Update...Added injuries for Sooner Road and Harrah Tornadoes,
updated path for the Harrah Tornado, and upgraded the rating of
tornado east of Comanche to EF3.

.Overview...Five tornadoes have been confirmed by survey teams.
Additional tornadoes likely occurred but have not been surveyed
yet. Much of this information, especially times and specific begin
and end points, and are subject to change as analysis continues.
Note that tornadoes occurred both before and after the
change from Daylight Time to Standard Time.

.Southeast OKC/Sooner Road...

Survey Summary:
The tornado began near SE 104th Street and South Sunnylane Road,
before moving quickly to the north and northeast. A few houses
suffered roof damage in Cleveland County, along Homestead Road.
As the tornado moved into Oklahoma County, at least EF3 damage
was noted along SE 89th street, just west of Sooner Road. Several
homes lost roofs, with major damage occurring across several
neighborhoods. The tornado crossed Interstate 240 near Sooner
Road, before lifting just north of the interstate. Additional
investigations will occur with this storm.

Survey Summary:
Brief tornado began just northeast of Byers, before moving north
and northeast and dissipating near the Red River. Storm chasers
observed this tornado and one home lost part part of a roof near
Byers.

Survey Summary:
Upgraded to EF3 based on severe tree damage along Comanche Lake
Road. The tornado likely developed southeast or south of Comanche
and moved northeast destroying a manufactured home and numerous
trees along Comanche Lake Road. The tornado continued northeast
crossing over the northern arm of Comanche Lake. It damaged
utility poles along Sunray Road to the northeast of Comanche
Lake. Investigation continues, but this tornado likely crossed
State Highway 7 and continued northeast for a few more miles
before dissipating.

Survey Summary:
National Weather Service damage survey crew found evidence of
EF0 and EF1 damage in and near Newcastle. The tornado began near
NE 40th street and Rockwell Avenue before moving to the north.
EF1 damage was noted at the Newcastle Elementary school
gymnasium, where awnings were damaged along with portions of the
roof. The tornado lifted just south of the I-44  and US
62 intersection.

Survey Summary:
The Harrah Tornado began along or just north of Interstate 40,
about mile east of the Choctaw Road exit. The tornado then moved
north, causing extensive damage to trees, power lines, and
several homes. The worst of the damage was found along and north
of SE 44th, just west of Triple X Road. At least one home lost
its roof, along with exterior walls collapsing. Survey teams found
that this tornado continued northeast damaging numerous houses in
a neighborhood near Southeast 15th Street and west of Peebly Road
and in another neighborhood northeast of Reno Avenue and Peebly
Road. The tornado passed over Horseshoe Lake and damaged homes in
neighborhoods along Harrah Road and NE 63rd Street. The tornado
moved northeast into Lincoln County continuing to produce damage
before finally dissipating just north of the Turner Turnpike near
Warwick.
