 - Expect a warming trend with dangerous heat indices becoming
   widespread towards the end of the week.

-  Potential for milder temperatures and more rain chances later
   this weekend into early next week.

Not much to report in the near term as typical hot and muggy summer
conditions are in place across the area. Expansive upper ridging
remains centered to our west but in close enough proximity to keep
precipitation chances suppressed. Dry conditions will continue into
tonight with lows dropping into the low 70s in most spots.

(Wednesday through Thursday night)
Issued at 1230 PM CDT Tue Aug 5 2025

Upper ridging will build in even further on Wednesday and Thursday,
with temperatures warming several degrees above average. Highs will
reach the mid 90s to low 100s with heat indices over 105 degrees in
many spots by Thursday, increasing the concern heat-related
illness for those spending time outdoors. No precipitation is
expected during this period with PoPs dropping to near 0%
areawide.

(Friday through Monday)

Hottest conditions of the week are forecast on Friday, with high
temperatures in the upper 90s to mid 100`s and many locations
seeing heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees. Heat headlines
will likely be needed for Friday. The ridge begins to weaken as a
strong northern stream trough tracks near the Canadian border
this weekend, and high temperatures trend downward into Monday.
Low shower/storm chances return on Saturday night to northern
Oklahoma with slightly higher chances on Sunday night.

VFR conditions are expected to continue.

Gusty southerly winds will weaken this evening with the loss of
daytime heating/vertical mixing. These winds will become gusty
once again tomorrow. A 45-knot low-level jet will result in low-
level wind shear (LLWS) across northwest Oklahoma (KWWR) tonight.
