 - Widely scattered showers/storms this afternoon with additional
   chances northwest tonight.

.NEAR TERM...
(Through Monday)
Issued at 1231 AM CDT Mon Aug 18 2025

A low chance of showers and thunderstorms are possible through
the very early morning hours today. Additional chances are
possible today, similar to what we saw on Sunday. Heat will once
again be the story for this afternoon, especially from Cherokee to
Kingfisher to OKC and down to Durant. Heat indices in these areas
will be upwards of 108 F by the middle of the afternoon.

.SHORT TERM...
(Monday night through Wednesday night)
Issued at 1231 AM CDT Mon Aug 18 2025

Heat will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday before a cool front
arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Additional heat
headlines are expected both days, especially across eastern
portions of the area. Scattered thunderstorms will be possible
Tuesday, primarily in the afternoon during peak heating.

A higher likelihood of storms will be along the frontal boundary
Tuesday night into Wednesday. Although cooler temperatures are
expected with this boundary, the cooler air won`t truly arrive
until late Wednesday into Thursday.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through Sunday)
Issued at 1231 AM CDT Mon Aug 18 2025

Afternoon highs will only get up into the upper 80s to low 90s
across the area behind the aforementioned cool front through the
remainder of the week into the weekend. Low end rain chances are
possible across southern Oklahoma and western north Texas Thursday
and remaining dry through Saturday. Rain chances return Sunday
across far northern Oklahoma.

thunderstorms will be possible again this afternoon and evening,
