URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...SNOW FOR THE MOUNTAINS ACROSS EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO
SUNDAY INTO MONDAY MORNING...

.A deep low pressure system will drop south across the Northwest
Sunday into Sunday night. Moisture overrunning cold Canadian air
will result in dropping snow levels with precipitation changing over
to snow. Moderate to heavy snow is expected for higher elevations
above 3000 feet in the Cascades, northern mountains of eastern
Washington and north Idaho. Backcountry recreationalist should be
prepared rapid changes in weather and winter weather conditions
including winds producing cold wind chills in the teens to single
digits.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM SUNDAY TO 5 AM PDT
MONDAY FOR ELEVATIONS ABOVE 3000 FEET...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 3000 feet. Total
  snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches between 3000 to 4000 feet, and
  6 to 12 inches above 4000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Eastport and Schweitzer Mountain Road.

* WHEN...From 2 PM Sunday to 5 AM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
  break tree limbs and could cause sporadic power outages.
  Backcountry recreationalist may experience a rapid degradation in
  weather conditions, and should be prepared for winter conditions
  through the night on Sunday. In addition, breezy winds in the
  mountains will lead to wind chill values in the single digits.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow on Sunday will primarily occur at the
  highest elevations and will have a hard time sticking on roads.
  Temperatures will quickly fall Sunday night with periods of heavy
  snow down as low as 3000 feet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in

  accumulations of 2 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Springdale-Hunters Road, Wauconda, Flowery Trail Road,
  Orin-Rice Road, Chesaw Road, Highway 20 Wauconda Summit, Boulder
  Creek Road, and Sherman Pass.

* WHEN...From 5 PM Sunday to 5 AM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Backcountry
  recreationalist may experience a rapid degradation in weather
  conditions, and should be prepared for winter conditions through
  the night on Sunday. In addition, breezy winds in the mountains
