...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS FOR NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY, THE
LOWER HUDSON VALLEY, NEW YORK CITY, AND LONG ISLAND FOR FRIDAY...

There is an increased risk of fire spread on Friday with northwest
winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph and minimum relative
humidity values of 20 to 25 percent. This will lead will to
increased fire spread if ignition occurs.

New York state has declared a burn ban through November 30.
Otherwise, burning is strongly discouraged. Use extra caution if
handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery or
matches, and ensure to properly extinguish or dispose cigarette
butts.
