* Special Marine Warning for...

  Eastern Long Island Sound...
  Peconic and Gardiners Bays...

* Until 100 AM EST.

* At 1156 PM EST, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 16 nm north of New Haven Harbor to 6 nm east of
  Herod Point, moving northeast at 30 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  New Haven Harbor, Horton Point, Orient Point, Madison Reef, Six
  Mile Reef, Mattituck Inlet, Shelter Island, Essex Village, Falkner
  Island, and Westbrook Center.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, small hail, high waves, lightning,
and heavy rain are expected with these storms. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.
