PECONIC AND GARDINERS BAYS...

The areas affected include...

  Eastern Long Island Sound...
  Peconic and Gardiners Bays...

At 926 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Niantic Bay to near Long Sand Shoal to
near Six Mile Reef to near Herod Point, moving east at 25 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Horton Point, Orient Point, Fishers Island Sound, Shelter Island
Sound, Gardiners Bay, The Race, Six Mile Reef, Mattituck Inlet, New
London Harbor, and Shelter Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
