.DISCUSSION...
Gusty westerly flow expected this afternoon and late tonight into
Friday. For late tonight, highest gusts generally along the
coast. Gusts are expected to be lower Friday afternoon. Gusts
highest this afternoon, near 25 to 30 mph. RH lowest this
afternoon, ranging from 15 to 30 percent for much of the area.
Today will have relatively more potential for fire spread.
Some showers are possible late tonight, both rain and/or snow
showers. While not much in terms of liquid equivalent
precipitation is expected (less than a tenth of an inch), the
forecast min RH on Friday is more in the 30 to 40 percent range.
Fire spread potential on Friday will be lower.
Also reducing the fire spread potential for Friday will be the
timing as the gusty winds will be mostly early and then decrease
in the afternoon when RH decreases.
