The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Western Passaic County in northeastern New Jersey...
  Central Orange County in southeastern New York...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 529 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  West Milford, Warwick, Goshen, Chester, Greenwood Lake, Florida,
  Unionville, Upper Greenwood Lake, Westtown, Slate Hill, Pine
  Island and New Hampton.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Pompton River, Monhagen Brook, Catlin Creek, Pochuck Creek,
  Pequannock River, Trout Brook, Green Brook, Long House Creek, Joe
  Creek, Stony Creek, Macopin River, Clinton Brook, Masonic Creek,
  Rutgers Creek, Wheeler Creek, Wawayanda Creek, Dunker Brook,
  Beaverdam Brook, Black Meadow Creek, Quaker Creek and Posts Brook.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
