2024 IN NORFOLK WAS WARMER AND WETTER THAN NORMAL. THE YEAR ENDED UP
3.6 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL FOR AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AND 0.91 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL FOR PRECIPITATION. SNOWFALL FOR THE YEAR MEASURED 23.5
INCHES AND WAS 6.4 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE PEAK SNOW DEPTH WAS 16"
WHICH OCCURRED IN MID JANUARY. A PEAK WIND GUST OF 61 MPH WAS
RECORDED ON DECEMBER 19TH. THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR WAS 100 AND
THE COLDEST WAS -21. IT WAS THE 2ND WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD. A NEW
MONTHLY HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS SET IN FEBURARY. AND A NEW MONTHLY LOW
PRECIPITATION WAS SET IN SEPTEMBER. 16 NEW DAILY CLIMATE RECORDS
WERE SET. TEMPERATURES EXCEEDED 100 DEGREES ONLY ONCE, WHICH IS 3
DAYS BELOW NORMAL. TEMPERATURES DROPPED BELOW ZERO 7 TIMES, WHICH
WAS 10 DAYS BELOW NORMAL.
