.DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms moved across portions of eastern
Nebraska this morning. These showers and thunderstorms are
entering southwestern Iowa this afternoon as a cold front moves
across our area. Winds shift from southerly to westerly or northwesterly
behind this front. Dangerous fire weather conditions are not
expected today with excellent mixing heights and decent transport
winds leading to good smoke dispersal this afternoon behind the
cold front.
Saturday we`ll see another cold front move through the
region with stronger winds and cooler temperatures. We`ll see a
low chance of showers across northeast Nebraska with this system
during the afternoon, but the rest of our area should remain dry.
Relative humidity is expected to drop to 35 to 45 percent across
southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa during this time.
