.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns are not anticipated through the upcoming
week. Light snow is expected again today across the region with
potential accumulations of a dusting to four inches expected. The
higher amounts (2-4 inches) are expected for areas along the
Kansas/Nebraska and Iowa/Missouri borders.
Tuesday will be quiet and dry with winds sustained winds up to
11mph and RH values above 70% during the daytime hours.
Wednesday, a quick-moving disturbance will move across the region,
bringing a chance of a few snow shower clipping northern Nebraska
and western Iowa. A cold front will drop in from the north,
increasing wind gusts to around 25-35mph; however, minimum RH
values will be 65% or greater through the day. The front will
usher in some bone-chilling arctic air Wednesday night/Thursday
morning. Lows are currently expected to be in the single digits
below zero in Nebraska and potentially as cold as 15 below zero in
Iowa.
Thursday will be cold with highs in the teens and 20s. We will
warm back into the 20s and 30s Friday into the weekend.
