National Hydrologic Discussion - EXPERIMENTAL
NWS National Water Center - Tuscaloosa AL

.Synopsis...
Flooding impacts expected across American Samoa... Lingering river flooding
across the Southeast... Potential rainfall late this week across the
Central and Eastern Gulf Coast...

.Discussion...

.American Samoa...
Flash flooding in low-lying/vulnerable areas and
landslides/mudslides/rockslides remain possible through this evening (local
time) as periods of heavy rainfall continue across the island.

.Southeast...
Across the Coastal Plain of GA and the Carolinas, areas of river flooding
will continue through the end of the week as the runoff from Helene makes
its way through the river systems. The Pee Dee and Santee rivers in SC, and
the Ocmulgee, Ohoopee, Alapaha, and Withlacoochee rivers in GA will
continue to rise over the next few days with crests expected by the end of
the week at most locations. Significant rainfall is not expected over the
next week, allowing water levels across the region to begin to recede.

.Central and Eastern Gulf Coast...
Several rounds of rainfall may be possible later this week in association
with a potential tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico. Confidence is
very low on where any flooding impacts will be, if any, but interests along
the Gulf Coast should continue to monitor the progress of this system.
