.DISCUSSION...
Warm and dry conditions will continue across the North Slope
through the weekend, with temperatures across the Arctic Plains
and along the foot of the Brooks Range rising into the upper 70s
to mid 80s and minimum relative humidity values falling into the
20s. Winds each day will generally blow from the northeast, with
wind gusts up to 25 mph possible during the daytime. Isolated to
widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday along
the slopes of the Brooks Range and adjacent areas of the Arctic
Plains, with any storms posing a risk for gusty winds and brief
heavy rainfall. Storms will be possible in the same areas on
Sunday, but will mostly be isolated in coverage. The warmest and
driest days will be Friday and Saturday, with Sunday`s
temperatures cooling back into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Monday
will see temperatures across the area cool back into the 50s and
60s, with scattered to numerous showers possible across the North
Slope, especially areas to the east. Minimum relative humidity
values will also rise significantly.
