Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alaska

.DISCUSSION...
Conditions will be fairly persistent until Saturday with warm
temperatures, low RH values, and gusty northeast winds.
Temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 80s across the Brooks
Range and Arctic Plains, while the coastline will remain cooler.
The Brooks Range and Arctic Plains will see minimum RH values in
the 20s while the coastline will see values above 50%. Northeast
winds will occur during the afternoon hours as their will be peak
solar mixing. Gusts up to 25 mph are possible Thursday and Friday,
while Saturday could see gusts up to 30 primarily in the Western
Arctic Plains.
The Western Arctic Plain and the Western Brooks Range could see
Widely Scattered thunderstorms Thursday afternoon. Point Hope to
Point Lay could see an isolated thunderstorm. Friday no
thunderstorms are expected.
