West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...Strong, broad low pressure over
the Canadian Maritimes will move SE today and tonight as weak
high pressure builds E into the area. A surface trough or two
associated with the broad low will also move S and SE across the
waters. High pressure diminishes over the area tonight, as low
pressure emerging off of the Carolinas late tonight and early Sat
rapidly intensifies and moves ENE across the waters through Sat
night. Mariners planning voyages off of the east coast should
monitor forecasts and prepare to execute avoidance with
hurricane-force winds expected just SE of the NE waters. The low
will move well out into the N Atlantic Sun, with high pressure
gradually building E over the waters Sun through early Mon. A low
pressure trough should develop over the E waters Mon, gradually
shifting E Mon night. Low pressure over the Gulf of Maine Tue
will slowly intensify and then shift E and SE Tue night as an
accompanying cold front moves S through the N and central waters.
