.SYNOPSIS FOR NEW ENGLAND WATERS...A strong coastal low will
continue moving slowly N just offshore of the SE U.S. today. The
low will expand, with a secondary low forming offshore of the
Virginia Capes tonight. This broad, complex low will move slowly
E from the Virginia Capes across the outer Mid-Atlantic waters
tonight through Tue night, then finally move E of the area Wed.
Mariners should monitor later forecasts on the coastal system as
this will be a long duration event for the east coast, and
impactful to the mariner. High pressure will build S into the
eastern U.S. Wed through Thu, maintaining a strong pressure
gradient across the waters. A new area of low pressure will
likely form just E of the outer Mid-Atlantic waters Thu and
remain nearly stationary Thu night.
