.SYNOPSIS...A weak ridge will continue to dominate the Gulf
waters the remainder of the week supporting light to gentle
winds with slight seas.

.OVERNIGHT...S of 24N, N to NE winds 10 kt in the late evening
and early morning, becoming variable less than 5 kt. N of 24N, N
winds 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
.WED...W to NW winds 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms.
.WED NIGHT...Variable winds less than 5 kt, becoming S to SW
10 kt early in the morning. Seas 2 to 4 ft. Isolated showers and

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Erin is near 27.7N 73.0W at 11 PM EDT, and
is moving north-northwest at 10 kt. Maximum sustained winds are
85 kt with gusts to 105 kt, and the minimum central pressure is
959 mb. Erin will gradually strengthen as it moves to near 29.3N
73.5W Wed morning, to near 31.6N 73.4W Wed evening with maximum
sustained winds 95 kt gusts 115 kt, to near 33.8N 72.2W Thu
morning with maximum sustained winds 100 kt gusts 120 kt, then
begin to weaken as it moves well north-northeast of the region
through the rest of the forecast period. Swells generated by Erin
will affect the Bahamas, Bermuda and the east coast of the United
States during the next several days. Otherwise, a tropical wave
located over the central tropical Atlantic continues to produce a
broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental
conditions appear conducive for gradual development of this
system, and a tropical depression could form late this week or
over the weekend while it moves near or to the north of the
northern Leeward Islands.

30 kt N of 27N. Seas 6 to 9 ft in NE to E swell. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms.
