.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Chantal was located at 33.5N 79.1W at
5 AM EDT moving N-NW at 7 kt. Chantal will move N-NW then NE over
the Carolinas today through tonight while weakening to a
post-tropical cyclone, before dissipating over the Mid-Atlantic
states by Mon night. Please monitor the latest information from
the National Hurricane Center. Otherwise, a stationary front
N of the area will likely dissipate while lifting N as a weak
warm front later today into tonight. The waters will then likely
remain between high pressure centered E and NE of the region and
a low pressure trough just inland from the coast over the SE
states Mon into Thu night.
