.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Warm and dry again Sunday due to a ridge of high pressure

- Cold front brings precipitation and breezy winds on Monday.
Cooler and wet late Monday into Wednesday, especially in north
  central Idaho

- Warming and drying returns Thursday and Friday

High pressure allows for continued warm and dry through early Monday
afternoon.

Monday is a day of transition as a cold front moves through from
west to east. The cold front will bring breezy southwest to west
winds, increased cloud cover and shower activity. In fact, a few
locations could see afternoon thunderstorms develop, mainly across
southwest Montana and Lemhi County.

Snow levels will lower Tuesday morning down to around 4500 feet,
allowing for some light snowfall on mountain passes. Cooler
temperatures (though actually normal for this time of year) are
anticipated with breezy southwest to west winds. A lake wind
advisory may be needed for Tuesday due to gusty winds causing
choppy conditions on Flathead Lake.

High pressure is expected to return by Thursday and Friday,
continuing the "ride" on the Spring rollercoaster. In fact, some
model solutions are showing temperatures could approach 75
degrees in some valley locations by Friday.

.AVIATION...High pressure will continue to strengthen through
today bringing generally clear skies and light winds. Patchy fog
may develop by Sunday morning for valley bottoms but should not be
widespread or long lasting.
