Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
245 PM EDT Sun Mar 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Low chance of light rain at times south of Interstate 40, today
into Monday. A warming trend will occur this coming week with
temperatures in the 70s and dry weather Tuesday and Wednesday. Low
afternoon relative humidities powered by deep atmospheric mixing
is expected even as early as Monday afternoon. Dry air mass
remains through Wednesday with low afternoon RHs each day. Low
chance of light rain on Thursday, next chance of beneficial
rainfall not until next weekend. The next weekend system looks to
be more significant, bringing not only the potential for heavier
rainfall, but also potential for a mountain wave wind event.
