Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
123 PM EDT Sun Aug 24 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A few isolated showers, and perhaps a storm, are expected across the Appalachians
through this evening. Cooler and drier air will be in place Monday
through Wednesday of this week. Highs will be in the 70s for most,
with overnight lows dropping well into the 50s and even upper 40s in
some spots. Thereafter, a slight warming trend is expected, but
with still below normal temperatures. Mostly dry conditions will
continue as well.
