The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Lake Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI
  and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian Border
  Beyond 5NM from shore...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 658 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 14 nm north of
  Laughing Whitefish Point, or 15 nm east of Granite Island, moving
  east at 25 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Granite Island Weather Station.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
