.DISCUSSION...
Strong winds are expected today as a cold front moves through. The
strongest winds are expected with the passage of the front and 60
to 90 minutes behind it, when winds will occasionally gust in
excess of 50 mph. Fortunately, temperatures will be falling with
those strong winds, so a significant drop in RHs is not expected.
A brief cool down is expected Saturday before highs in the 40s and
50s return again for Sunday and Monday. Some light precipitation
(mostly rain) is expected Monday through Tuesday night, but
amounts continue to trend, ranging from near zero around
Alexandria, to about about 0.25" from Albert Lea to Eau Claire.
Beyond Monday, highs next week are expected to be in the 30s and
40s, which will limit our fire weather potential.
