Isolated lightning storms are forecast overnight over the local Atlantic waters. A slight chance (20%) exists for onshore moving lightning storms along the Martin county coast into the early morning. .RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT... A Moderate Risk of rip currents continues at all central Florida Atlantic beaches tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. There remains a daily chance for scattered showers and storms through this week. Occasional to frequent lightning, brief gusty winds, and torrential rainfall will accompany the strongest storms. High pressure is forecast to build over the state as we approach the Independence holiday. Temperatures are forecast to rise into the low and mid 90s late this week and into next weekend. The Heat Risk is expected to rise into the Major category for portions of the area with above normal temperatures and high humidity. The potential for heat-related health impacts, such as heat exhaustion will increase. It is recommended to take frequent breaks from the heat and stay hydrated during the warmest parts of the day.
