.DISCUSSION...
Typical summertime weather persists this week with daily afternoon
showers and storms. Chances increase a bit from 40-60% Wednesday to
50-70% later in the week, from a modest increase in moisture. Weak
flow Wednesday, resulting in light winds becoming variable at times,
becomes more south to south easterly at 5-10 mph Thursday. Behind
the sea breeze, winds shift easterly Wednesday and southeasterly
Thursday, at 5-10 mph.
RH minima remain above critical thresholds. Afternoon smoke
dispersion will be Poor to Fair Wednesday, becoming Fair to Good
Thursday. Heat and humidity will combine for elevated heat indices
from 100-106 each day, and precautions should be taken to prevent
heat-related illness.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
