.DISCUSSION...
Rather unsettled weather persists through today and tomorrow with
rain and storm chances ranging from 70-90 percent across the
district. Waves of eastward-moving showers and storms should push
from the Gulf Coast over our area, with activity starting earlier
than usual across the northern half of the area before drifting east
and south in the afternoon hours. Higher rain chances and increased
cloud cover should limit highs to the mid 80s to low 90s, with peak
heat index values as high as 95-105 degrees ahead of showers and
storms. Some stronger storms will be capable of frequent lightning
strikes, gusty winds of 40-45 mph and locally heavy rainfall.
Southwest winds continue from 5-15 mph with a few gusts to 20 mph in
the afternoon, leading to good peak dispersion. Min RH
values from 55-70% are forecast each day.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
