.DISCUSSION...
Very high rain chances, especially Thursday through Saturday, as
moisture surges ahead of a weak front sagging into North Florida.
The National Hurricane Center has given a low pressure system
forming along the front towards the weekend a Medium (40%) chance to
undergo tropical or subtropical development over the next 7 days.
Decreasing confidence in convective evolution due to anomalously
high moisture and broad instability. In addition, high coverage of
clouds expected to reduce daytime heating, resulting in weaker/later
sea breezes. If the circulation can develop, S-SW flow will keep the
east coast sea breeze pinned near the coast. Chances for early
initiation of showers and storms higher than normal through this
unsettled period, but the highest coverage should continue to be
during the afternoon/evening hours. Storms could become slow and
erratic, with the strongest capable of frequent lightning strikes,
wind gusts locally up to 50 mph, and torrential downpours. Min RHs
60-70% today, increasing to 70% or higher Thursday. Afternoon smoke
dispersion Generally Good. Afternoon highs near to slightly below
normal in the U80s-90, but high humidity keeping heat indices in the
U90s-L100s.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
