...The Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill is ON for Today...

The Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill Committee has decided that
the statewide tornado drill is officially ON for today, April
10th, 2025. Even though skies will be cloudy and there could be
some rain showers, the drill will go on. The chance for any
thunderstorms is little to none this afternoon and evening.

As a reminder:

-Tornado drills are being held at 1:45pm and 6:45pm
-There will be a voice over broadcast on NOAA All-Hazards Weather
Radio, exactly like the Routine Weekly Test (RWT) which we do
 around noon on Wednesdays
-Some municipalities will sound their outdoor warning sirens
 during these tests
-There will be social media posts at the drill times, reminding
people to practice and discuss their sheltering plans at work,
home, school or wherever people may be at that time
-Some TV and Radio stations may interrupt broadcast coverage, but
most will follow up with a message at an appropriate time

There will NOT be:
-A Test Tornado Watch or Test Tornado Warning sent out by NWS
-EAS alerts through TV or radio
-Cell phone/App Push Notifications/Wireless Emergency Alerts

Now is the time to be thinking and talking about your plans for
when severe weather occurs. Take time on these quiet weather days
to talk about these plans with co-workers, family members and
friends.
