.DISCUSSION...
Steady light rain remains in place across far southern Wisconsin,
with mixing heights around 3000 ft across the remainder of
southern Wisconsin. Southerly winds will continue to gust at 30-35
mph, with isolated gusts to 40 mph across far southwestern
Wisconsin. Winds will slowly diminish into late tonight.
Rain chances develop across the remainder of southern Wisconsin
this evening into tonight as a warm front lifts across the region.
A line of strong thunderstorms will progress west to east late
tonight into early Friday morning. The main hazard with these
thunderstorms is hail and local brief gusty winds.
A period of light, isolated showers are possible Friday morning
along with breezy southern winds. Additional storms develop
Friday afternoon in central Wisconsin and Friday evening into
Friday night in southeastern Wisconsin along a cold front. These
storms would be capable of producing damaging winds and hail.
Storms move offshore into Lake Michigan into the early overnight
hours Friday. Winds behind the cold front shift to become
northwesterly.
Northwesterly winds continue on Saturday, with gusts around 15
mph. Dry conditions are expected, with RH values falling into the
35-45 percent range, with RH values only falling into the 50s
along Lake Michigan. Mixing heights rising to 4500-5000 ft away
from Lake Michigan, to 2000 ft along Lake Michigan.
