...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Albemarle Sound...
Alligator River...
Croatan and Roanoke Sounds...
Pamlico Sound...

At 650 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts
were located along a line extending from 7 nm east of Ar160 to near
The Vicinity Of Mashoes, moving east at 30 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large
         hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural
         damage in high winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in
         suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, The Vicinity Of Mashoes, The
Center Of The Albemarle Sound, The Center Of Roanoke Sound, The
Center Of Croatan Sound, Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge,
Alligator River Bridge, and The Mouth Of The Alligator River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous
lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
