Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
324 PM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025

.DISCUSSION....
High pressure over the eastern CONUS this afternoon will slowly
slide offshore tomorrow but remain the dominant weather maker
across the Carolinas. Advancing sea breeze will result in an
abrupt and occassionally breezy period of easterly winds late
this afternoon into the evening hours while RHs upstream settle
at around 25%. RHs increase markedly behind the sea breeze.

High moves offshore tomorrow ushering in stronger southerly winds,
gusting up to 20 kt in the afternoon. Increasing humidity brings min
RHs of 35-40%.
