Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
157 AM EDT Thu Jul 3 2025

.DISCUSSION....
Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms expected this
afternoon along the sea breeze as frontal boundary stalls over the region
today. Best chance of storms south of a line from New Bern to Kinston.
High pressure will then build in from the west through the holiday
weekend with the frontal boundary stalling off the Southeast coast.
There`s a 50% chance for tropical development along this boundary later
this weekend, which could bring increased PoPs into next week.
