The Flood Watch is cancelled for a portion of eastern North
Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Greene, Mainland
Hyde, Martin, Ocracoke Island, Pitt, Tyrrell and Washington.

The flooding threat has ended. Therefore, the Flood Watch is being
cancelled.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the
  following areas, Hatteras Island, Mainland Dare and Northern Outer
  Banks.

* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Bands of heavy rainfall and intense rainfall rates will
    remain possible into this afternoon, supporting areas of
    flooding and flash flooding. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2
    inches of rain is possible, with higher amounts near 3
    inches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
