.Synopsis for Eastern North Carolina coastal waters...
Hurricane Erin is expected to pass offshore tonight and Thursday,
but significant coastal impacts in the form of very dangerous
seas, life threatening surf, and rip currents, as well as
significant beach erosion and areas of overwash are expected this
week. Stronger swell from Erin started to arrive today and will
continue to worsen, with impacts expected to peak Wednesday and
Thursday before gradually diminishing this weekend.
