A front at the beginning of June, which was more wet than normal for this time of the month, brought the only rain this month to the Medford area. There was a lack of spring time thunderstorm activity west of the Cascades, which prevent further precipitation accumulation in the Medford area. The remainder of the month was quiet weather wise, as the region remainder mostly under control of high pressure leading to some slight warming, drying, and regular diurnal wind patterns. The average temperature for the month was 69.7 degrees, which is 2.8 degrees above normal. The average maximum temperature was 85.5 degrees, which is 4.0 degrees above normal. The average minimum temperature was 53.9 degrees, which is 1.6 degrees above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 96 degrees which occurred on the 7th and 25th. The lowest temperature for the month was 42 degrees which occurred on the 18th. There were 25 clear days, 4 partly cloudy days, and 1 cloudy day. Total precipitation for the month was 0.26 inches which is 0.42 inches below normal. Total precipitation for the water year (beginning October 1st) is 16.40 inches which is 0.98 inches below normal. Calendar year precipitation is 11.25 inches which is 1.23 inches above normal. The average wind speed for the month was 4.4 mph.
