...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO
2 AM PDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot temperatures of 100 to 110 degrees with
  very warm overnight temperatures of 65 to 70 degrees.

* WHERE...The Shasta, Scott and Klamath River Valleys in central and
  western Siskiyou County. This includes the communities of Weed,
  Yreka, Montague, Etna, Ft Jones, Happy Camp and Somes Bar.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 2 AM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat. Warm overnight temperatures will provide little
  relief from hot daytime temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay informed.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

  Cave Junction, Williams, Ruch, Rogue River, Gold Hill, White City,
  Shady Cove, Medford, Jacksonville, Talent and Ashland.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 2 AM PDT Wednesday.
