...Flood Potential Outlook for rapid rises and possible flooding
from rain and snow melt on rivers and streams in Jackson, Josephine,
Douglas, Coos, and Curry counties in Oregon and in Siskiyou County
in California...

An active storm track will remain over the area through at least
early next week. A fast-moving disturbance will spread light to
moderate precipitation back over the area from west to east later
tonight into Friday. Snow levels will be quite low initially, down
around 1000-1500 feet. This is followed by a moist, atmospheric
river system late Saturday into Sunday. Each of these systems is
expected to bring snow and wind impacts to portions of the area.
Total precipitation will range from 4 to 8 inches through Monday.
This combined with some snow melt will cause increased runoff.

Water levels are expected to rise Saturday and Sunday, especially
for rivers and streams west of the Cascades. While forecasts could
change as the situation becomes more clear, the most recent river
forecast predicts flood stage to be reached by Saturday night on
Deer Creek near Roseburg and by Sunday night on the Rogue River near
Agness. The South Fork Coquille River at Myrtle Point is forecast to
crest just below flood stage. Other rivers and streams will also see
large rises that could be dangerous for anyone near the water.

A flood potential outlook is issued when there is the potential for
significant rises or flooding along rivers and streams.

The exact scenario for flooding remains uncertain. This product will
be updated as necessary. Watches and warnings may be issued by the
National Weather Service if this situation worsens.
