...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following
  county, Miami-Dade.

* WHEN...Until 230 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1127 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rains continue
    to affect the central metro areas of Miami-Dade County. Minor
    flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
    advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen
    over this area during the last couple of hours.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
    over the area with the ongoing heavy rains. This additional
    rain will result in minor flooding. If the rainfall amounts
    increase more than forecast, then a Flash Flood Warning may
    be needed for this area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Homestead, Coral Gables, South Miami, Kendall, The Redland,
    Black Point, Pinecrest, Richmond West, Country Walk, Zoo
    Miami, The Hammocks, Richmond Heights, The Crossings, Goulds,
    West Perrine, West Kendall, Princeton, Intersection Krome And
    Kendall Drive, Naranja and Kendale Lakes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
